Stolen horse-drawn vehicle toys

The Fillmore County Sheriff's Office is investigating the burglary that happened sometime between April 28 and May 4 at Ed's Museum in downtown Wykoff. Several metal antique toys were stolen from Ed's Museum in Wykoff, including‚  several horse-drawn vehicle toys (a fire truck, a police patrol wagon, a stage coach and a Clydesdale wagon) and rare tin wind-up toy of four mice.

DalekThe second Toy Museum for a Day was held at Alresford Community Centre on Sunday 15th March 2009. Despite the warmest day of the year so far approx 450 visitors came to the show. At the entrance was an eye catching full size Dalek made by residents and day visitors to the Simply Unique Studio at Bells Piece, A Leonard Cheshire Disability home for people with learning difficulties. The aœmuseum' is a collection of toys brought together by various collectors from around the country.

KINDER SURPRISE EGGS TARGET COLLECTOR MARKET

Italian confectioners Ferrero have announced a new version of their Kinder Surprise Eggs which will target the vintage toy collector market.

Kinder eggs, which contain a plastic capsule with a toy inside have long been popular with children and some of the toys are now highly sought-after by collectors. But the new Collector Surprise Eggs will do things slightly differently.

The Show has over 180 tables and well over 100 dealers Buying / Selling / Trading Collectible Toys all in a 10,000 sq ft Main Room. Some of the toys represented include Hot Wheels, Star Wars, Barbie, comics, movie memorabilia (posters - autographs), Racing items, board games, action figures (science fiction - movie - television - wrestling), die-cast cars, model kits, trading cards, sports collectibles and too much more to list. The show was started to help promote the secondary market of collectible toys. The ToyMan Show is held 7 times a year and has been in business since 1990. It was founded with the idea of bringing collectors together and have fun while doing it. Several dealers have been in business/collecting for well over 30 years. Over the years the show has seen multiple friendships bloom, business partnerships start and even a few kids (future collectors) born.

Ugly Toys Competition!

I don't normally blog about stuff I've set up elsewhere on the site, but just this once I'm going to break my own rule because I'm so pleased with the idea for this new competition! I've just launched a new competition over in the Competitions Section - this one's for ugly toys!

The idea came from the Maidenhead Static Model Club and is very simple - he or she who has the toy deemed ugliest wins! It's an ongoing contest, open to any type of toy, as long as it's scarily hideous! For example,  here are my vintage clockwork chattering teeth...
