Corgi Built to Last

At the Nuremburg Toy Fair of 2012 a new series of diecast toys was presented by Corgi. The brand had not really had a presence in the "small scale diecast" market for about two decades, so it's return was quite unexpected. The cars are made in the so-called 3 inch-scale, about 1:64, though the trucks would more likely be scaled 1:87.

I received 2 out of the first series. The packaging is a nice blister like packaging, but it's not packed like a cardboard piece with a glued on plastic bubble, but a plastic bubble contained in cardboard. Quite pretty and allows for inspection on both sides. The cars I got have a plastic interior and chassis as one mould/piece and a metal body. The interior is very poorly detailed, the cars are quite well recreated and have nice paint detail.
