Standard Gauge Module Association To Present Operating Standard Gauge Layout at York In October 2006


The newly formed Standard Gauge Module Association (SGMA) has accepted an invitation from the Train Collector's Association Eastern Division (TCA Eastern) and will present an operating standard gauge modular layout at the TCA Eastern Division York toy train meet in October 2006. The layout is slated for the Black Hall at the York Fairgrounds and will feature several standard gauge operating loops, vintage and modern locos and rolling stock, and a variety of accessories.

Bringing Back A Lionel 408E

I prefer to conserve tinplate with careful cleaning and repair rather than performing full restorations and repaints if at all possible. This aspect of the hobby is most rewarding for me. So when I won a Lionel 408E on EBAY that had serious modifications made to it including a poor overpaint with an incorrect color, my first task was to determine if the engine could be returned to its factory configuration and finish short of complete restoration and repainting.
