Distler 1950s Packard


Op America Toy and Bank Museum

Offered from OpAmerica Toy and Bank Museum is this wonderful vintage Distler red Packard Convertible, 1950's vintage. Other than some very minor wear, this car is in excellent working condition. Bottom of car reads "Made in US Zone Germany" This is a wonderful example of an original classic toy.

Hustler Toy Company

Tom Street (Tom's World of Wheels) called and told me about a toy car a patron of his had brought in, and to bring my camera.

What he had was a Hustler Toy Company racer, loaned to him from Jacques Mayou, whose father Paul had it as a kid. It is 9-1/2 inches long and 4 inches wide, with a burgundy engine cowl and unpainted metal cockpit housing. The driver is black painted metal. He asked me what I knew about it.

Intercars #104 AMX Javelin

I am not sure of the years these were manufactured in New Zealand. I first came across them in a little secondhand toy shop in South Dunedin in the 1980s. I purchased them for my collection simply because they had been made in New Zealand from imported dies at a time when New Zealand had some very restrictive importing laws that meant metal toys could not be imported without being subject to very high import duties.
