To stay sane in this new world we are living in, I seem to be watching a lot of old films.

Apart from enjoying the films, what I find most interesting is when I notice vehicles that made it into the Corgi Toys range.

So I thought a "Name the Film" game might be fun. (I'm sure this has been done before but can't remember where).

Take a screen shot of a vehicle in the film (I'm not sure if it's possible to add short clips).

and then invite you to guess the name of the film.

You are welcome to add information about the car and the associated model as well as any other interseting bits of trivia.

A correct guess means that you can add the next image or I can keep going if preferred.

I'll stick with Corgi Toys but you are welcome to chose anything you like.

Here's the first image. (I hope it's easy).

Name the film.

Good first choice.
The original 1969 'The Italian Job'

Many of the vehicles seen in the film could be found in the Corgi catalogues such as the Minis but sadly not an Aston DB4 convertible. You could have the Lamborghini hard top and an E Type convertible.

During filming of the Aston going over the edge the results were poor so another car was sourced but this ended up being a Vignale Lancia Flaminia touched up to look like the DB4!

Very Good Answer.

The Italian Job (1969)

Lots of Corgi's to chose from in that film. I was very tempted by the Lamborghini Miura in the opening scene.

But I felt an odd emotion with the Aston Martin, it was like watching a horror movie as the DB4 was being wrecked along with the two E-Types.

Also fascinating to learn how the scene was bungled and the car switched.

I think the Mini pursuit sequence is the most memorable part of the film.

Easy to see why Corgi's later release of the Coach and 3 Mini's is so popular.

I wonder, do the Mini's fit inside the coach as they do in the film?

Anyway, over to Rollerman if you'd like to add the next movie image.

This is a great new topic and a real challenge. I can think of a few movies/series that have some iconic cars in it.

Sorry, no answer, just wanted to add I love toy cars and movies, so this game will be interesting.

Cars and Movies. That should have been the name of the topic.

Ok, that looks like a Mini Moke and the scene certainly has a Bond feel to it.

If it is a Bond film: you only live once

I think you mean "Twice"

There's a Corgi in that film as well.

Theo had the title close enough because numerically he was only one digit away...Once and Twice, don't come much closer than that!

So yes, it is a scene from You Only Live Twice so over to Theo if he wants the next go.
