Gonna start this thread for builds of Euro made cars of all kinds. Of course we should see all the \"usual suspects\" like Mercedes, Audi, BMW, VW and Porsche. But i hope to see some of the lesser and not as well known makes. I don\'t know what is or has been available out there in kitland, but i hope to see some examples here! bring\'em out guys!

And here\'s the rear/door open shot! This kit was issued once for 2000 and is getting extremely rare already!!! I almost had to stand on my head and make chicken noises to get this one.....ALMOST!!! The doors will be done better when I get the right materials. And this kit comes with 3 sets of inter changable body panels in different colors, red, bright green and yellow. and it\'s a snap kit so you can take it all apart and rebuildit, like a jigsaw puzzle! neat kit........IF you can find one! You\'d think that Revell, with the gas crunch and the soike in small car popularity, would reissue this kit! Who knows?................

Here are a couple that I still have from my younger days of building. Both of these have a flat chassis and I think they were suppose to be 1/24 scale slot cars.

Lotus

Porsche 959

I also had a Lambo Countach kit but it met an ill fate when a set of shelves it was on fell over and crushed it so there are no pics of it. I do have several others to build including a crotch rocket as you can see on this page: <A href=\"public.fotki.com/MoparMarc/my_unbuilt_mo...opar_kits/</A>

I used to have one of those 1/12 scale Countach kits by Doyusha. And let me tell you, THAT is a fabulous kit!! Lost it in the fire along with my 3 Ferrari coups. But if you ever get the chance to get one grab it!! You won\'t be sorry!

I picked up the old Testors 1/12 Lamborghini Countach kit. I remember seeing it advertised (maybe 1986?) at the now defunct Hobby Shop and just longed for the kit. I just didn\'t have the $80.00 the kit cost then.

I bought one about 5 years ago from the bay. A kit I\'ll eventually build as I get more time and age on me.

I do believe it was utlized from the old Doyusha/Otaki molds.

Well this thread is going slower than the NASCAR thread!!! So here i got with another Euro car. This one i did ad a \"Basic Builder\" sorta challenge. This is a 1966 issue Monogram \'39 Mercedes 540K. As it is moded in color, i decided to do a \"root build\" and not paint ANYTHING!!! Well some dimwith cut off the windshield posts ant support the windshield!! And one one was still in the box!! So I scabbed in a piece and painted it red!! Other than that, no paint!! Haven\'t even waxed it yet! There\'s a couple things I\'m still going to do to it yet now that the build is over, but she\'s a beauty just like she sits! And I elected to build it with the convertable top up. Mostly because it\'s got a great profile with the uptop and the landau bars! Pre-war elegance at it\'s best!!

One more pic of it with the side profile. I could see myself ona Sunday cruise in this!! Straight eight, screaming Supercharger, hood a city block long!! It don\'t get much better than that!!

That truely defines the 30s sports model. The exhaust tubes out the side of the hood have always been one of my favorite design features on the big fender cars. The color is fantastic for injection mold plastic. The kits today are no where near that nice.

it\'s really a shame that they don\'t do many kits like this anymore. the only thing that is close are the kits coming out of japan. Usually it\'s like 2 colors, and one color is usually black! But they are all modern cars and need other painting to be something. This old Monogram kit, like many they did, could be done by someone with moderate experiance. And have something nice to display! NOW if Revellogramwould see their way clear to dig out that old dragster kit that was like a 10 in one! Different bodies, motor options, etc.! I had one so long ago I barely remember the Bantam coupe body the kit came with!

Re:Euro Cars 12 years, 10 months ago #12

Moderator
Yeah, I\'d like to see the Keeling & Clayton dragster that was done in 1/16 scale. That was a great kit. I never thought I\'d be the one complaining that \"they just don\'t make them like that anymore\".

Great build Hippie, I have been wanting to get some of those old cars to build myself.
