TOPIC: Dinky 190 Caravan Restoration

I agree as if it is not done right you get paint from the lower onto the upper. That ruins it.
The XK120 Jag is a harder masking job due to all the curves.

I have masked and sprayed the light blue and unmasked it. Here we go.

One or two touch ups and I can assemble. I also have to clean the paint off the back rivet. The base is painted Satin Black and is drying.

very nice! Is that a spider's web in the window? If so, it is now preserved for life

That could be but more likely dust from my spray bench. Happens seldom and comes of easy with no marks.

Have not looked at that cob web yet but I did paint the rear lights red. Now I need to find a better dolly wheel as the one I have is pretty gouged. Post #8 shows it fairly well. I am waiting on my order as the rivets I need are on that order. Should be here in about a weeks time. In the mean time I have started on the Dinky 40H Austin London Taxi and the Spot-On #104 MGA. I found not problems with the wheels that could not be fixed. Threads for these starting tonight.

Well my order finally arrived with my rivets so I finished off this Caravan. Here she is along side the 189 Triumph Herald that tows it.

And the set.

Took some time from the start to the finish but it was worth it.
I have 8 packs of 10 rivets now for myself.

As I did the Caravan with a pale cream top I am still looking for a larger car with a cream top to pull this. I might just do another caravan with a white top for this cute little Herald.

Happy New Year all. Lets hope it is better than 2020!

If I don't find a car with this cream top like the caravan then I will probably paint it white like the Herald

I think that is a good solution. Which car will it be?

I was thinking of the Triumph Herald but still thinking about it.
