On with the next one. As the title says the Ford Zephyr and this is one for my Pullmore Car Transporter. might be the last one for the two tone cars on it.

As I purchased it last month. $16.00 US including shipping. It has some paint loss and the tires are all hard.

Not in very bad condition but it was the price that got me to buy it to restore.

So I took apart on March 3.

Then I removed the paint.

The last picture is before stripping and the one above it is after stripping. NOT much difference at all.

Now for the lower Dark Blue color. That goes on first.

Two or three good coats of paint does the trick. On to the masking.

I have painted the light blue upper and it is now drying.
The masking was a bit difficult around the chrome strip at the front of each front fender and around the rear bumper near the tail lights. I decided to use some clear coat on it after pressing all the raised lines on either side to hold the tape there. I guess it was cheaper to just cut the door groove in the mold than to machine out all the other metal to make it recessed. That is my guess anyway.

that is a nice and cheap find. The resto goes well. I had the same problem with the masking when I did this one some years ago.

Yes, I have some touch-ups to do on a couple spots. Some of the clear ran down and into the masking and stuck to the car. I have to address that.

I have painted the upper half and let it sit for a few hours before stripping off the tape and letting it dry over night.
I have also touched up most of the little mistakes.

I have also painted the hubs at the same time.

Thanks Andy. It is starting to come together. There is the side body piece near the front of each front fender. You can see a bit of light blue on the darker blue on on just below that larger body molding. I have touched that up as well as a bit on the front of the car and also the rear. Looks like I should be able to put this one together today or tomorrow. I am also about to finish another 190 Caravan that is paired with a Morris Oxford I did a number of years ago. Watch for that this weekend too.

I have done the touch ups. The bumpers and grille are now done and drying.
