That was a nasty update to this aircraft project but as they say, S--t happens. Here I go again with the start over. I have it all stripped as you can see above and have filled in the gap that the broken lower half has. I think I have it much better this time. You can see the filler in the crack after sanding.

Here is the top view, all nice and clean.

Sorry for the edit but I posted the same picture twice.

Now I give it a coat of primer or two. You can hardly see the break now. I hope it turns out this well when I paint it.

And the top view after a couple coats of gloss white paint. I had to do it again this morning as the tail looked a little thin.

That is drying for at least a day before masking.

I got the masking done this morning and have painted it silver. Not sure how well it went on but let it dry and then take a look. Here is the masking.

Thanks Theo and I hope to do it right this time. Next is the axles I have to make and then I will do the black tip on the nose. That will be BEFORE I do the dark blue on the nose this time. Maybe it will work for me.

I am back on the plane again and this time I am going to finish it off. After all the trouble I had with the broken body and then the bad paint job and then the body breaking apart again I only did part of the decaling on the plane. I have redone the wheels and axles and that is looking good.

The last picture is a bit bright but I wanted the wing decals.

Great work, Jim! More aircraft would be welcome here. They are diecast too, you know?

Very nice examples Jan, thanks for posting them here.
I have finished up the plane now, finally. 3 of the prop pins were snugged into place but not too tight with my small hammer. Just a couple light taps and they are good Props still spin too. The prop on the outer starboard (right) side was too loose and would not stay in place. A tiny bit of super glue on a pointed round toothpick which I rolled around inside the hole. It is now solid and the prop spins. Here are the final pictures.
