Now for the last one I need for this series of truck. The Bedford Dinky Toys van. Again I am using a 480 Kodak Van as these seem to go for less money than the Dinky Toys and Ovaltine vans.

Some furniture stripper and some scrubbing and bead blasting and it turned out to be a pretty good casting.

You saw the base plates in the 481 Ovaltine van resto. Now for some primer.

I press all the bumps in the casting, caused by the heat during the blasting, down with a round dental tool You can see the bumps or bubbles in the last set of photos on the rear doors of the van. Hard to see here but they are gone now.
Now some paint for the top half. After all this is another 2 tone.

Then we mask it off.

I do the interior too as you can see in the windows. No need to do all the inside masking, just around the front windows and doors.

Under the masking tape above in the last picture I have painted it the same color as the outside. I used a brush but you won't be able to tell later as you have to look in the windows to see it.

This turned out pretty good. Just a few touch-ups needed on the outside.

Tomorrow I will do the touch-ups and the details. The Ovaltine van should be assembled tomorrow too.

Jim, excellent work as always.
I bought a Bedford Dinky Toys recently, too. Price was 11 Euros plus PP from UK.

I need it as a colour reference for a Bedford Pallet Jekta Van awaiting restoration.

The Bedford Dinky Toys is #9 Orange/Yellow for the lower half and #17 Yellow/Orange for the upper half.
The 930 Bedford Pallet-Jecta is #17 Yellow/Orange lower half. and #13 Primrose for the upper half
These are Steve Flowers colors and I have personally matched them from the unfaded colors inside the toys when I restored them.
They are slightly different.
