TOPIC: Corgi nr 409 Jeep FC150

These Jeeps FC-150 were made in many variations. Although the upper shell stayed the same, there were several upgrades done. A half-base like these were first, then a complete base, and later suspension was added.

These early ones had a baseplate which was not the best. It broke easily, ad I had two on the bench for a long time. Now they are repaired, here they are.

Here you can see the front part is broken off.

I see Curtain Blinds make for a handy repair there.

Using your initiative!

also notice how one truck has no spare wheel well, yet the other does.

I see in my last picture the repaired parts seem white, but that is the flash. They are as gray as the rest of the baseplates. Yes, one spare wheel holder must have broken off.

I think there are 6 variations. (1959) 409 - Pale Blue, no interior (1961) GS14 - Red with Hydraulic Tower (1965) 470 - Avocado with grey Hood (1965) GS64 - Red with Conveyor (1965) 478 - Green with Hydraulic Tower (1968) 470 - Dark Blue with grey Hood
I'm curious to find out what your plans are for the back.

Well done CCE, that is quite a history, and a long run for such a simple model.

The ones I did are the earliest ones, from 1959. Doing two hoods out of tinplate for them.

With the hole in the bed, notch in the rear tailgate and the short red base, I think you are working with the 1961-64 GS14 hydraulic tower version.

Adding a tinplate hood is a great idea. But I was kind of expecting a parade of elephants or something.

You are right, the hole means there was a tower. I will check my others.
