That is the way I have always painted stripes etc like this. I do have a home made Brey for rolling paint. I have a project I am working on right now that I think I will be using the brey on. It is a hard rubber roller with handle. They are used in printing and scrap booking and other handy crafts. I have had to make up my own as you can't seem to buy then this small. About 3/8" or less in Diameter and about 3/4" wide. When I used it on some of the Dinky Buses I did a number of years ago, it worked pretty good.
