Here's where you can discuss all general diecast stuff - mystery items, ask who made a model of a particular car, ask for info about an obscure manufacturer or chat about anything else related to vehicles smaller than 1:1 scale!

TOPIC: Another Studebaker in the making

Hi Jim, The tank was from a 'Yesteryear' or some-such, basically an old Bedford cab (as per transporter) with tank, labelled 'Mobil', if you are really interested I'll find out exactly what. The tank was white but I cleaned off some white paint and it looked 'polish-able', so I went for it. Not something I would normally go for but a bit different. It doesn't polish up mirror bright and shows fingerprints but it's fine for a model. (sorry forgot 'before' pics).

143 Madness, MOLOTOW not MOLOTOV, I know it's only a slight difference but could be a burning issue is some peoples pencil case .

( I don't know if "Molotov cocktail' is known internationally so I suggest you google it).

I have had it, the pen, resting at 45ish degrees in a box and it appears to have recovered.

Have fun

Being me, the remains of he Conrad Mercedes race car transporter didn't stay in the oddments box for long. Another 6 wheeler beckoned .

I suspect there is a good reason most 6 wheelers have the rear axles close together.
Sorry about the colour, Rover Applejack, only one I hadn't used recently

Have fun

I like the finish on the truck, it is a good color.
Let me guess, its load will be a.... Studebaker?

Re: Another Studebaker in the making 2 years, 4 months ago #20

Didn't even think about a load, but you are 100% correct young man .

Another one done today, I am getting an idea I should rush things, don't ask why.

I bought this M2 cheap from Hong Kong with a little paint damage so decided to butcher it completely

looks great, when you say about rushing things we do things at our own pace, I have done two complete restorations earlier today from strip down to finish, it is how my adrenaline works I get an idea & aim & just go for it.

What's the rear made up from? old hot wheels or something?

Hi

Yep the rear axle is off a Hot Wheels something or other, the engine out of a Hot Wheels dragster that looked like a maroon coffin. I went through a phase of modding Studebaker Wagonaire's about 2 years ago, part converted this then, haven't touched another till yesterday (except to steal parts )

Have fun
