Here's where you can discuss all general diecast stuff - mystery items, ask who made a model of a particular car, ask for info about an obscure manufacturer or chat about anything else related to vehicles smaller than 1:1 scale!

TOPIC: Another Studebaker in the making

Not been too active lately, the man cave has no heating and it's been cold, but I put my winter woolies on and got out and did a bit. I have stalled n the transporter cab, so got 2 of the 'M' chassis cabs & made a 6 wheeler.

Had an old Corgi 'Beast Carrier, so checked it out with the cage on the back, just stuck for wheels & a colour now.

Colour isn't staying.

The wheels look too flashy for me. Need hubs with wheel nuts showing, maybe some oval slots around the outer edge.Work truck wheels and a heavier treaded tire would be perfect, I think, What do you think?

Hi Jim
The wheels on are temporary to see if they all reach the ground . I re-wheeled a Siku transporter and those are fine at the rear but won't go under the front wings/fenders.
The 'cage' has yet to be fixed (after I get suitable wheels) so that really was just a mock-up.
Have fun
Terry

I see. I think the cage looked good, just needs to be fastened, as you say. With or without a rear door too as quite often these were open backed for ease of access on the farm.

I have 2 of the cages but 1 door. One cage is/was on a trailer with broken towing eye. They are out in the shed drying/hardening (it's still cold) Cage's are in painted VW Sand (pale gold) and the chassis cab Ford Roman Bronze ( dark brown), will post pics tomorrow, but still no wheels.
Chopped a few more bits out of the transporter trailer and ramp too

Steal or not, I like the wheels. They really look like they belong on this truck. You did a great job and the trailer is really good too. Thanks for showing this great truck.

That is an interesting build.Where did you get the tank from? or did you make it yourself? Sure looks great.

Next time I go to the coast, probably June. I will try to remember to take a photo of what I remember as a Ford tanker similar to this with Shell livery. Parked on the side of the highway in the brambles out front of an old farm in Cawston, BC.

I love google earth. Here is that tanker.

Here is another view.

Hard to get a good shot with Google earth but there it is.
