Being a repaint are you going to re do it in the competition version? I bet is looks good that way too.
I also notice that the comp model does not have the post at the back of the side doors. shorter cab no doubt as it looks that way. Slight differences between the to brands toolike the side vents and the head lights and the tail lights too.

In fact I guess the Politoys model is a different version of the 3500 GT. Especially the longer cab.

Looking at the road model on the Aessemodels.IT site the road models also have the shorter cab

Don't drool.. Those original Mercuries came with a luggage bag containing golf bag, fishing rod and Wellies

Excellent photo display backed up by your worded description between the road model and the racing competizione version having no bumpers. Less wind drag thus improving speed. Many thanks for sharing.

<p>Yes Theo. In total Merit issued a series of 14 classic racing models, scale 1/24.</p>
<p>The cars are from the late 40's upto the second half of the 50's.</p>
<p>There are several different boxes and when you combine them you get this, showing all fourteen cars.</p>
