What a great looking motor,  Alfa certainly know how to design cars. Very impressed with the quality of Mercury toys so ill be keeping an eye open for these. This as opening bonnet, doors and even a fuel cap that can be removed. More pics in my gallery.

You are right.  They make a good diecast.  I have not seen too many Mecury models around.  

have an Bertone Alfa Carabo by them.  Photo on Corgi and Husky forum if you are interested under heading \"Corgi Junior Alfa Carabo\"

Very nice example. The plastic fuel filler is often missing. I have quite a few Mercury. They were the first Italian company to make diecast cars, having had ties with Marklin in the 1940s. They had the Italian market to themselves until the 1960s when Politoys and Mebetoys got in on the act and after that their market share started to decline. In a way, their history parallels that of Dinky, especially since they also went out of business in about 1981.
