But what we went for was a Trax Australia 1949 Ford Ute.

My father owned one when I was a kid so it seemed a logical addition.

This is the first time I have seen this post. The '49 Ford is iconic in the Dinky line up and this Trax is a real beauty. I wonder sometime why Ford never brought this out in North America. I am sure it would have sold as did the Ranchero only a few years latter in 1957

Found a picture recently of a real '49 fordor sedan in Cuba, I did not know they were not available in America.

The site above has also been an inspiration in custom 4 doors

There is or was (did not see it last trip) just outside Midway BC, Canada, that is about 20Km from me. Sitting on a trailer it looks in good original shape. Stock Grey Ford Fordor. Yes, the car was sold in North America but not the Ute as the Australian's call it. Ford did the Ranchero and Chevrolet did the El Camino while GMC did the Sprint. Just a fancier and more powerful El Camino
