This James Young Phantom V, chassis # 5LVA105 is known as 'His'. Original owner was  Mr. W.J. McCoy, probably the real McCoy.

It has blanked rear quarter lights and dummy landau irons. The big R100 sealed-beam headlamps also not a standard feature.

As far as I know (there is still some doubt) these R100's were later on replaced by 'normal' headlights.

This model by Classic Models from China, and a pretty nice one I must add.

If there is a 'His' is there also a 'Hers'?  Yes, for sure! It is another James Young Phantom V model, built with a two door coupé-ish coachwork, chassis #5LBV69.

True Scale Miniatures has a 1/43 model of 'Hers' in the pipe line.

Landau irons, or landaulette irons are the same as pram irons:

I was told once by a RR owner that it made the roof, which has a covering, look like a convertible by placing what looks like an old hinge on the sides. Some cars look good with them others do not, IMHO

Top Marques managed to release both cars as a Limited Edition (only 100 of), sets around 1996.

And one of these sets (used) is offered for sale on Ebay at only 999,99 quid.
The flying lady is missing on "Hers". A bit steep I think.

By the way TM sets show these cars in wine red while the one on Ebay is deep purple. I guess that the Ebay set is fake, I suspect both cars are made by Classic Models, judging by the "His" and "Hers" number plate. CM also have a "Hers" on offer.

My brand new "His" was only GBP 48 and the "Hers", announced by TSM, will be around GBP 95.

I've sold my set 1.100 €. a few years ago.

I had seen a chinese visit on my website for this model. So I decided to sold it quickly before chinese models flood the marketplace.

Not sure it could be sold the same price today.
