I had a weird one as a child, bought around 1970-71 when it came out. My book calls it ref# 8117-1 "Volkswagen 1300 Hippie's"

Love those "Flower Power" era toys!!!!!

Theo, I took one of the Corgi drawers out, and as you can see, there is Snorkel stuff in there.

I think you need these. Yes, we will meet in Houten this Saturday.

OKe, now about the plastic mystery car. At the NAMAC fair I found a winding key for 5 euros. It fits like a glove and the wind-up engine works great.

At this fair, there are so many people with knowledge of all kinds, so I ask around and this is what I found about the car.

It is a Luxor Toys, made in Amsterdam and the car is a Jowett Javelin. So Terrytoo was right. And TeeboDK thanks for the photo.

Here are a few Luxor Toys cars that are similar (photos taken from the internet)

That's amazing that someone could ID it for you.  And it's made in Amsterdam!  I did not know of any toy cars from there...

Yes Karl, I was amazed too. I have to find out more about the company.
Although I don't collect these Luxor cars, this is perhaps a keeper
