I want to make a box for sandblasting.
I have a compressor that gives 3 bar, it is the compressor for airbrusshing.
But i don't know if 3 bar is enough for sandblasting.
Is there anyone here who knows these things?

3 bar is about 45 pounds pressure. I use from 90 to 100 PSI for my glass beading of my toys. I think 3 bar may work but it will take quite some time to do. 7 or 8 Bar capacity compressor would work much better. I have a pressure gauge on my construction compressor in my garage that cuts the air pressure down to about 40 to 50 pounds. Then in the house I have another the scales that down to about 20 pounds for my air brushing. They are both adjustable.

The guage is similar to this one.

<p>I found a sandblasting pistol in the Hubo shop for 26,89€, that is about 22,50 GBP. The pistol works with 3 bar so i'm going to give it a try.</p>

Looks like that will work for you. Just get used to putting new blast material in the back every 10 to 15 minutes though.

That size will alright for doing small jobs, one at a time. Then having to refill or recycle your media.

Today i got some materials for making my sandblasting box.
A big box, some gloves.
The 2 containers with the material for sandblasting were included with the sandblasting gun.
The compressors is from my brother.
The 2 black ri!ngs are 3D printed and i have to 3D print some more.
Here are some pictures.

Your off to a good start. I assume your going to cut holes in the side of the box like I have on my sand blaster. Mine is in the garage now due to too much dust in the basement.

Yes i'm going to cut holes in the box but first i have to 3D print some parts.

My gloves are a rubberized Canvas material. I have been using them since I bought it in 2008 or '09 and no problems so far. Paint is wearing off on the inside but that matters not. I just change the blast medium more often to keep the dust down.

Oh ya, don't forget that you need air inlet and outlet on the box so the pressure does not build up. Use filters on them. If your rings are stiff you could print some that are not full circle so that you could put round coffee filters in them. That might work and be cheap too.

I'm going to 3D print these parts.
Thank you for the tip.

Looks like a good set up for small jobs like diecast toys. Mine is a lot larger as I restore old lawn mowers and need a lot more room.

Yes, yours would have to be at least 4 or 5 times the size of mine James.
