So I see. I wonder why the difference. Might it have something to do with the race course? or where spectators watch from? Thanks foir this second picture of the Mini Champs model.

I searched for the real car racing at Spa 1971 and it has the dual numbers on the left side only

It really does not surprise me that Mattel (Hot Wheels) would not catch this in mock up let alone production. Like I said before, quality control has gone out the window with the arrival of mass production for a world market.

On the 300 SL, Mattel did not get a license to apply all the sponsor decals (too $$, I assume); notice the Hot Wheels tampo which is not original. So the HW designers had extra space to use up. Why not make both sides match with the extra roundel? Close enough for a toy car - but still based on a real race car!

I really liked the Little Red Express Truck when if first came out. I just does not look good in Green metal flake paint.

You found some nice cars and trucks there. The Ford GT40 and the Mercedes Unimog and the Camero Iroc (Iconic car), and the Mercedes Benz 300sl. I think that is a 1958 model year. Lots of other great cars there and even a Chevy pick up but I don't like that custom slope version.
Isn't that Honda one of the very first in North America with Chain Drive???? The first Honda in N/A was in 1969
