This one:

Saved from the grave and now looks like this:

In the end I opted against rear wheel spads, it made the car look heavy, and the big Lucas lights were creating much problems. But it has an interior again and windows cut from sheet material. Five hours well spent.

how do you paint them so smooth? when i repaint a model i end up with a pretty chunky result... do you use an airbrush?

Thanks. First of all I remove the old paint and make sure  that the bare body is as smooth as can be.

Next I apply a primer from a spray can and let it dry, then the first layer of paint is applied, also using a spray can.  Then a second coat and maybe even a third. It is quick drying paint. Finally a clear coat to make it shine. All pretty straight forward stuff I must add.

That's a lovely restoration Ecclesley.

Blackstone were the decals on the Volvo put on at the factory or did you add them?

I put them on some fifty years ago; since they are "in period "I'll leave them.

I thought I had not seen one with decals like that, I am the same I have left most of my toy collection from when I was a child exactly as they were when I played with them, painted them & put transfers on them, memories.

That Ford Zephyr Six with the boat trailer is like a picture postcard, really very nice to lay your eyes on.

Great scores Niall, another chapter in your Spot On hobby fulfilled.
