It slides but unfortunately I have had to stop it from moving as if it goes too far it drops out.

That it soo bad. Anyway you can put something on the underside of the hatch to keep it from going to far? Just a thought.

I tried putting a "stopper2 in the roof but it dipped and went past it so I have put a small piece of Blutac

in the roof for now.

I have not seen this before. It is very nice and reminds me of a builder set of red bricks I had as a kid. You could build walls and it even came with a card board roof and a cardboard door and a couple windows too if I remember right. It was a lot of fun when I was young.
