TOPIC: can you help me identify this model?

can you help me identify this model? 10 years, 9 months ago #1

Junior Boarder
hi everyone i\'m new here. i\'m 14 and icollect diecast vehicles.

last week i found this old majorette model in my uncle\'s house.
i tried to find any information about it in the internet but the only conclusion was that it is from 1960-1970 and that it have to be a french or british car make.
i also learned that in those years majorette made models of some cars and changed them so that the copyright wont cost them a lot of money.

i hope that you guys can help me identify this model. my best guess was peugeot 404 because of the seats but i need more experienced opinion

sorry about my writting mistakes, english isn\'t my home language

Hi Lior, welcome to the forum.

Your find is not a Peugeot 404, its not French and isn\'t even European.

Its a 1970 Plymouth Fury Police Car. Very American.

Peugeot 404 versus Plymouth Fury
very different design style.

fortunately I don\'t take stock on upholstery. I do occasionally modify seats to fit other models like this Low-Cabrio custom Impala which began life as a seatless hardtop. The seats were from a Matchbox VW which were the only ones small enough to fit.

Welcome to the site! It is a shame about the roof, this is quite a rare model - but if you can find a windscreen that fits, it would make a nice convertible!

Welcome to the site Thunderbird, hope you find what your looking for here. I am sure you must have hobby stores in Israel? if so they must stock some sort of model paints. In Canada we have Testors, Tamyia and Humbrol among others. You can also try automotive stores for small spray cans of paint to match a lot but not all. Take your model with you so you can match as best as you can. Enamels are the best but acrylics and laquers do the jog as well.

I was reading this article, and even after 3 years, I'm curious about the final result.

I just checked and the last time he was on line was 3 years ago. I doubt we will get an update. Would have been nice to see what he did with it.
