Just found this thread and I am a star trek fan. This is a fantastic build and it is almost 3 feet long you say. It will look spectacular when finished. This will be marked as a favorite now,
Jim

How much total time do you figure it will take you to build this. And another one to do too. Nice.

thanks Jim ....total time for the build will probally end up somewhere around 80 hours.....that dosent include the research time i have put into it......The deeper i get into this build the more problems i discover with it , but that is just modeling 40% problem solving 25% patience and 35 % creativity.needles to say i am not making much on this build in dollar amount but I am doing other things to make this build work for me .At this point I dont know if I am going to take the other buildfor this client.....if I do we will need to work something out

I have had a minor set back with this build ....I have discovered that the multip pieces that form the ring between the upper and lower saucer are going to have bad gaps in them , at first I thought these could be filled from the inside but I was wrong they are going to be filled from the outside and then sanded and scribed

Got the problem solved and back on travk......the directions are actually backwards

now with the problems being corrected the upper and lower saucer sections are going together ......slowly......they have to be clamped and glued a little at a time. Then some alignment issues will need to be corrected and some re scribing.............

Can you explain the Dark Filter Wash for those of us who have never hear of it. Excuse my ignorance. It looks very effective and I would like to know how to do it, if I can.  Jim
