Yes, we know it's a little bit of a contradiction in terms, but here's where you can talk about Norev, Minialuxe, Siku, Polistil, Tomte, Auburn, Sun Rubber or any other ready-made model car that's made of plastic or rubber. Hey, they're still cast in dies!

TOPIC: Triang Minic Electric 1/20

It is Mazak, I know that the chrome door handles on real old cars were made of this it is quite easy to break.

Very pleased to add another  Jaguar Mk1 to my collection , this one is the pale blue , however it has a plain cream interior instead of  the Tartan one, I wonder if this was a cost saving to the later run as my turquoise Zephyr has the plain cream but saying that so does the Herald. Whilst speaking about the interiors the saloons ones were made of tin, the sports & convertibles were made of plastic, in a couple of my Anglia's the tin ones have the print from a police motor bike , they may have used the rejects from one of their tin toys to make these... early recycling

Interesting what you say about the motorcycle print. I am assuming that it is the lithograph of the bike and on the inside of the car?? or am I not understanding?
They are very nice cars.

That's correct , Nobleco, the underside is lithograph underside, I will take the bottom off one when I have time & try to photograph it.

That is another beauty Andy, I am really fond of the colour too. Was that the one advertised on Ebay, amongst the ads I showed?

It may have been, I have bought from this seller before & he is highly recommended, whilst on holiday in Lanzarote I saw he had a buy it now price £40 so I bought it, it needs rear lights & part of the rear bumper is missing but this will give me something to do.

I have just got a rare Telsalda S type which I will picture today, in the Telsalda topic, I have a spare caravan which this was part of a set with this model.

I have just got after many years of searching the Ford escort squire, someone put this on this topic a couple of months ago but did not reply back to my question.

The "Squire" may have related to the "Woody" the "Escort" itself was the estate version of the 100E Popular / Anglia.

This model came in the same style box as the 1/20 series but is a lot smaller scale, it is I believe the only "electric" car of this scale to match the 1/20's, may be wrong..

It is a shame that this did not come with it's box as it would have been nice.

This model was also available in the "push & go" series with a friction motor.

It runs from a single battery & the rear wheels adjust up & down so as they can run free or work with a metal axle which touches the top of tyre making the wheels turn.

That is a cute little car!
The Anglia I know from the streets here in The Netherlands, many moons ago. This version however, I have never seen it out on the streets

Cute it is indeed. But that red one in the background. That is classic class.

This was if you like the Anglia MK11 the first being the "Sit up & Beg" E93A model the 105E Anglia is the more well known of the models with it's slanted back window. The Anglia was replaced by the Escort & this estate version was known as the Escort.

What a great picture you show Andy of Four Fords. We can see the big 1/20 Ford in Red at the back, I think we all know of that one.

Then there is the little plastic 'Push n'go' in Blue, quite unusual, I have the matching Rolls-Royce and Bentley models.

Then the fantastic rare Cream 'WELSOTOYS' Escort from the ESSO Garage set.

Then the TRIANG Escort in Blue, another rare model.

This is fantastic stuff, wish more members would post their 'Fantastic Plastic'.

Just a note on some of the registration plates.

Its well know the early 'TRI-ANG' pedal cars had something like "LB 3067" displayed. 'LB' of course standing for Lines Brothers and for a long time it was thought the numbers related to phone numbers of the factory.

"LBL 4242", is very likely to be Lines Brothers Limited.

"TRI 957" is very likely to be Triang.

"CAN 501" is very likely to be Canterbury, Tring's 'MINIC' factory was there.

The Ford Escort seems to have been an attempt at a cheaper range of electric models, but no other vehicles are known to have been developed for the range, so stands alone in it's smaller scale.

This is an idea tried for the Mini, a cheaper version in much cheaper packaging.

This is a 'Pull back n' go' simplified adaptation of the previous battery powered Mini. This is very rare and again, I do not know of any additional models in this range.
