Yes, we know it's a little bit of a contradiction in terms, but here's where you can talk about Norev, Minialuxe, Siku, Polistil, Tomte, Auburn, Sun Rubber or any other ready-made model car that's made of plastic or rubber. Hey, they're still cast in dies!

TOPIC: Triang Minic Electric 1/20

Nice work on the temp hub cap. In a pinch you have done well and it looks good. I also note you have replace the front tag or license plate holder. Now you just need to make up the plate decal for it.

If you go back to when i bought the red one i made most of these for that too, I will copy the no. plate to finish as I did with the red one.

Looks much better with the front tag on. Did you find a better hub cap in your spares box?

I am afraid the milk float has taken over this weekend so I haven't looked for a better hub cap yet but will do.

I hear ya there. I get side tracked from time to time as well and put off stuff for other things. Nice to have the time and then decide what you want to do with it. I have finished up with customers toys now and will be taking a bit of a break but back at my own toys soon.
Have fun.

I have had another add to these fine models only this time it is the Friction Drive version of the Ford Escort Squire (110E) . You can see how this model does not have the bright work painted like the battery version , nor does it have windows. I will repair the damaged no. plates.

For all of you who have found interest in this topic this again is a very rare site to see, these two models together & as with this whole topic , this is the complete set , apart from some colour variations & I am very pleased that I can show you this rare set as a whole.

My question. Is the blue Ford Escort Squire 110E the battery version or friction. While the other question be, would the friction drive be the first version that Triang Minic produced first.

Cheers.

If you go back to section 7 of this topic , it shows my first post of the blue one , it is battery operated & came in a smaller Triang Minic Electric box which Rollerman has kindly shown a picture of, I am not not sure but I would take a guess & say that the friction drive one came out first.

There is a funny story attached to this model as the seller I bought the blue one  from on Ebay, put the red friction drive one up for auction shortly after & I mistakenly added an extra figure to my maximum bid & it took my bid to three figures! I was watching it oblivious of this thinking I was winning until i realised the bid had gone to over £300 , I messaged the seller as soon as I was aware & he had to stop the auction, I did offer them my maximum offer but they never replied back.

Ooops, have to be careful with the fingers while typing. I have done the same thing and had to retract my bid. It does happen and most time people understand. I guess he did not appreciate you giving him the hope of a high selling price and then retracting it. Oh well. Glad you did get one and that it is in such fine shape, The number plates will be no problem for you. I too would thing the friction motor would come out first. Does not make sense to put out a battery version THEN a friction motor as friction motors were developed before batteries were invented for toys.

My mind has been refreshed when I found the information on page 7, about the battery operated Ford Escort 110E. Thanks.

Another colour variation to add , this is the ice blue Zephyr saloon, I have the missing parts to make this complete & it needs a good clean.
