Telsalda Hong Kong & Others...

Yes, we know it's a little bit of a contradiction in terms, but here's where you can talk about Norev, Minialuxe, Siku, Polistil, Tomte, Auburn, Sun Rubber or any other ready-made model car that's made of plastic or rubber. Hey, they're still cast in dies!

I have just got this Spot-on Wadham ambulance I will restore it when I get time. I have photo's of my Spot-On collection but not sure which forum to put them on.

The storm has now calmed down here & it has turned out a nice day.

Luckily it is not as bad it looks , replace the rear doors & it may clean up, I will probably strip & re-spray it later

Hello everybody on Planet Diecast. I am a new member and this is my first posting. I am very interested in these plastic friction powered toys from Hong Kong, having researched them for a number of years now, as an extension of my own hobby.

I would like to just correct one of the images above, the medium blue Vauxhall by 'CLIFFORD', it is actually the 'PB' Cresta and not the 'FB'.

'FB' was the next size car down from the 'PB'. The 'FB' Victor is shown in some earlier images.

This is a huge subject and I would like to comment on many of the models shown during this thread, but it will be easier to comment on specific models, photographed seperately.

For starters, the 'MINIMITE' Brand name was for marketing the models supplied by 'LUCKY' in the U.S. markets and any model found in 'MINIMITE' packaging, can be found under the original 'LUCKY' name or the 'LAURIE TOYS' name.

The same Mercedes-Benz 600, (on the 'MINIMITE' blister card packaging) was also marketed by 'VENY'...

...hope that helps a little and I will be happy to try and clear-up any others.

I will post some pictures and do some sort of article based on some of these models for the forum's members, but will keep to this thread for convenience.

Thank's for reading, best regards,

TheRollerman.

Welcome Rollerman  well spotted, I have now edited & put the PB before cresta as it should have been, added lots that day! I look forward to sharing the interest into these models , there were & are certainly some lovely items made in plastic.

Suprising how many vintage Dinky, Matchbox and Corgi were copied in plastic, rubber ect..... These must be rare as I've not seen any of these before.

Hi Andy66, I have taken the liberty of saving one of your images and added what I think the large brown Austin 1800 is.

It does look like a model made by 'LB' because that company made a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud saloon in the same colour, with the same wheel design, if it's not the 'LB' version, it could be the cheaper version by 'CN' who re-marketed the 'LB' models in slightly different boxes and usually in different body colours, with chunkier looking treaded tyres.

Hope you didn't mind me doing this without asking you first,

Regards,
