Hi everybody...

Outside the mainstream.

As You probably remember, my top quest (and collection) is for Vanguards Models. Anyway, after reading your topics, I remembered my frustrating relationship with Dinky and Corgi: when I was a child, I admired the models in magazines and comics, but my family can't afford the cost of those models. Now I try to found the lost Joy of owing such cars, with the time and hours played signed on them: three  Corgies, from the left a Chevrolet Impala, a Marcos Mantis and an Oldsmobile Tornado. Pictured in the oper air and with natural light, at least. Is ther anybody who know when this models were launched by Corgi?  They are all made in Great Britain.

Thanks!

Hello saltobravo, The Chevrolet Impala you have in Black looks like the 'State Police' version so comes from 1959.

The Blue Oldsmobile first came out in 1967 to 1969, then it was re-issued with 'Take Off' wheels in 1969.

The Marcos Mantis came out in 1971, it has the low friction 'Whizzwheels'.

Hope that helps you,

Rollerman.

Oh, good price and looks like the interior and the window unit are in great shape. Polish the hubs and they will look new. Nice score.

very well executed Kees, the line between the blue and white is perfect

Thanks Theo, I have to admit, sometimes that line is perfect, sometimes it goes terribly wrong.......

I agree with you Kees. it can be a pain when the tape does not stick as it should. Also peeling it off can cause problems too. That is a very nice job you did on the Fiat. Thanks for showing.
