Ah yes the Quad not the best gun tower, the brakes were rubbish not all that good on mud either, I was in 235 Battery a 25Pdr field Battery at the start of my army service.

I was in G troop, third in a line of four, with both gun and limber on the back, we were descending a hill outside Nuneaton in Warwickshire, keeping the required 50 feet between each unit, the one in front stopped at the bottom, the second one just managed to pull up I managed to stop only after the Gun brake, that is the silver bit on the end of the gun barrel had come through the windscreen.

I had photos taken for the usual enquiry but lost them years ago.

Corgi Escort 1/43, had a bit of digging to get one of these a lot of sites had sold out and did not hold any optimism of getting any more

The 1;1 is my wifes first Ford

notice that there are no wing mirrors  as is the case with the Capri behind it, so Why Corgi decided to put them on the model is questionable, In those days things like car aerials and mirrors were things you added yourself

Lorraine has decided to join in collecting models of cars she has had

as long as I do the looking and buying bit.

I cant find any maker who has done the four door 18b Datsun bluebird though

Best way to begin any collection is cars you owned and cars you dream to own.

I've had a thank you from my friends wife who is really happy wit the red yaris replica of her real car.

It was an 1100 Lorraine had just passed her driving test , the car insurance was a lot cheaper than for the 1300 It was still more than Mine was for the capri, I also have the Corgi trackside 1/76

not knocking it the 1100 was the base model from ford . that is why the corgi model has wing mirrors overriders and trim it is the delux ,they were added in the factory.

i can remember when the hillman imp came out it came with a heater or without  a heater now that is a base model.
