Where are all that 3D printed spares...??? 4 years, 4 months ago #1

Gold Boarder
Hello dear all,

honestly spoken, I thought with seeing 3D printer technology being spread, prices for the typical "always lost" Corgi Toys spares, such as the Green Hornet Spinner, Batmobile rockets etc. would come to a reasonable level. It does not seem so.

Does  anyone own such kind of equipment and has successfully made attempts to "reprint" such spares?

Best regards

Hi Wolfgang,
I think there are a couple of reasons we aren't seeing 'spares' yet.
1st, it isn't a matter of 'copying' the object, there has to be a specific program written to enable the print to be made.
2nd, The price of getting the programme then the materials, probably means only 'cost effective' pieces will be printed for a while.
3rd The cost of the machine is not inconsiderable.

I don't think they print in metal and what about chromed pieces?
I can get Rockets for the Batmobile in red or yellow plastic in sets of 4 and front missile and rear spinner for the Green Hornet, both in red plastic

Hello,

I see...

May I ask whether there are big variations in quality especially as far it concerns the missiles for the Bond Esprit/Batmobile/Hornet for those "known" spare parts producers?

Wolfgang,
I know the quality of the available parts is very good.
I have bought some spare rocket for the Batmobile and the were veryclose to the original. Nobleco here on PD sells them I think

Wolfgang, Theo is correct, I can get the missiles but I have to order them for you. You would have to contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for a price and shipping cost. They are as close to the originals as can be made and my main supplier is one of if not the largest supplier of these parts in the world. I have been dealing with him for about 10 or so years now. I even visited him this past summer at his home in England. He makes all the parts at his 2 shops.
