Some try to obtain complete gift sets.

I couldn\'t afford. So I decided to find all pieces.

In fact, I found and have a \"coup de coeur\" for and old box. Some tears and creases but bright colours an complete.

So I decided to buy it, and to fill it !

I first found an Austin Cambridge that has been replaced by a Mint one.

And then found an Jaguar empty box.

Found an unboxed MGA. A superb Austin Healey with very good box.

And.... I had to wait several months.

I knew that I could find a carrimore. But I wanted it yellow... And knew the MGA box would be difficult to find.

Two months ago I found both the truck and a MGA box, within one week.

So here is my gift set. Excellent to Mint in God plus to mint boxes.

I\'m gonna try now to find a white and blue carrimore without silver tracks and with red cab\'. Just to change.

Why have choosen these cars and not the ones that are illustrating the gift set box ?

Because first The Great Book of The Corgi indicates these cars as fitting the GS1.
Second because the 1958 and first Corgi-Toys catalogue talks about 2 saloon and 2 sports cars in this set.

You will find here http://www.corky.fr/?page_id=28 more pictures and information (sorry I still didn\'t translate it in english... oooops).

Nice set !

If I could afford some Gift sets, I would certainly buy some. All complete.
I recognize E Type Jag\', Corvette. I know other ones. But I don\'t have many sports cars.

Very nice set and getting harder to find in decent condition if I go for a gift set it has to be mint well the models anyway but finding them in unused condition is nigh on impossible but I struck gold with the 37 Lotus set which can be seen in this thread

Yes I'm very happy !

You can see the difference in the "MAJOR" police on the two lids.

The one with the hollow MAJOR is early the other with the full letters is from 1958 until it got withdrawn in 1959 so I'm told...
