Thank's Richard for the pictures of your Mini's, looking good together. I had both the 'POLICE' Van and traveller with surf boards from new, both sadly no longer with me but I might still have the surf boards in storage.

It is nice seeing the Corgi 'POLICE' van painted in different colours, quite a fleet you have built up.

Rollerman.

This repainted one not sure what the original colour was. It is one of the very first Corgi minis as can be seen by the wheels. The chassis is interesting too

These three are more or less what they are supposed to be.

The green minivan looked so clean and mint I could not use it for my project. Great decision to make because it's still a favorite.

Great collection of Mini's. Nice to see them all and the Toy Collector ones are special.

just won a couple more.

single roof light mini cooper s on the way.
got it under budget.

another one has the usual has not worked postage out problem.

its relatively easy to do via the internet.
you take the furthest away from you and its $45 tracked, $18 untracked. closest country is $27 tracked, $12 untracked.

Thats why collecting is to budget.

In the picture before the last one you have three Mini's. The one on the right is black with a red roof. I think that one is supposed to be the Wickerwork Mini, which had yellow semi-decals on the sides. The one next to it seems maroon red, which was an original colour, and the same goes for the light blue one on the left.

What is interesting about the chassis of the repainted one?

The top one is older. It was already badly painted in white. I do not know the original colour because I have not come across one of the same vintage

I see, the top one (in both pictures) is the pre-clamp method, with a flat bar over the piano ware. I also used one like this, see the Mini Mostest thread. The 'problem' is that the E. Force book gives you details and variations, but NOT the variations of insides.......

The flat bar was also used in early 218 DB4's and others.

Also the holes in the base, seen on the outside, and under the axles, which I mentioned earlier, are signs of it being an early model. As the first Mini models Corgi did were nr 225 (Austin 7) and 226 (Morris Mini Minor), this could be one of them. The differences in those are only for the real experts (I am not one of them). Basicly the front grille differs in these models....and the baseplates. The early base you show says it is an Austin 7. This means it is nr 225.

Would you happen to know what colors they were.
Altho I like the color I gave it.

Re: speaking of classic corgi minis 8 years, 6 months ago #29

Platinum Boarder
Ok, the 226 was done in 1960, the 225 in 1961, I don't know why that was done in this unlogical order. We are talking about nr 225, the Austin 7. The variatons were:

-light yellow, red interior, flat hubs

-red, yellow interior, flat hubs

-red, yellow interior, spun hubs crimped on axles

-red, yellow interior, spun hubs, free on axles
