Yes Jim ouch is about the right word.
Loved the Spitfire to work on, just raise the bonnet sit on the wheel and you could do a top end refit - you only had to stand up to lift the head off!!!
Really sad when the telegraph pole stepped out in front of me - blinded by moonlight, that's my story. Got out without a scratch.

Quite the damage and they are a tough little car. Glad you got out okay. Good firewall in these. I used to race a TR 2+2 V6 model at Westwood raceways in the Mission outside Vancouver BC Canada. Fun car and held the road really well.

A car has always been in my memories from when I was a kid, one of my parents neighbours had a Mk1 Cortina which he bought in the late 70's early 80's , it was old then but it was immaculate, it was two tone blue & white.
I got a rough Cortina last week & decided to paint it the same although my blue is a tad lighter than the car was.
I sprayed the white in with the doors off & I may need to touch the n/s up as the door moulds are of line to the body but it will do for now.

That was a horrible looking car that you got but it looks the part now. Nice blue and white combination. I remember these cars in Canada back in the early 80's
