Here is the very first issue of the Bedford with the six rivets in the chassis......

Mine must be a later version then as I only have 4 rivets in the one I recently got from Andrew. It also has a darker cab but as this was pieced together out of a box full of them, it is hard to say if it is the original. Does not matter as I will be restoring it anyway. The tailgate on this one was broken and the rivets have not been removed so have to do that to get the replacement in place.

Chris you certainly have a rare model there regardless of condition.

Great find.

Cheers Chris

Cheers Lads,

The aluminium trailer for these was sub contracted out by Meccano to a casting foundary in Smethwick here in the Black Country.

I guess they found that 4 rivets were enough to hold it together, and saved some money.

The first issue was all light blue, then went to mid blue cab with light blue rear, the only Pullmore that is harder to find is the all mid blue version that appeared between the two I think. I have never seen this one for real.

Come on Lads, lets see some more loaded Transporters,

Chris Warr.

Kev, is that the detachable rear wheel trailer? Could you show me the underside of it, please?
I have 6 or so coming from SF and would like to see an original.

And the same truck in Toy Collector livery.

Nope, I am looking for the detachable axle for the heavy equipment (machinery) hauler. The rear set of wheels (4) come off so the load can be unloaded or loaded. Separate from the trailer.

Ah Rich,

You got a Dinky Car Carrier and Trailer set. I have been after one of these for YEARS.
Will have to try harder.

Nice Corgi Transporters too, I have a mint boxed S type machine carrier,
but I still really need the Car Transporter.
