nice ones. What do you think of the paintwork quality?

The quality is not bad but there are a couple blemishes on each model. That is why they come so cheap. I don't mind as they are small. One on the Canopy of the Studebaker and the Tanker has a small scratch in the paint on the base beside one of the tabs to hold the tank on. For the prices I am happy.

They are nice and the rest of the paint is great. Others I have here I have paid more for and received the paper work and they were blemish free. Free shipping from China and a cheap price usually means there is a mark or blemish on the model.

you are right, some cheaper models have some imperfections, but not always

I have an original in Green and Black and also this one I did for a customer. Customers before and after

Mine as I received it and I have left it like this. It could use a good bath however.

I have also done this color too

I think it is a great looking car and a good example of American styling of that era.

Mine are all original Dinky Toys. I don't have this car in an Atlas Edition. The Atlas copy is very true to the original as far as I can see from here.

You need to save the picture to your desktop and then use Postimage to load it here. Otherwise what your posting in a link to the ad. This is picture only.

Another thing about this Atlas model that differs from the Dinky original is the way the grille is painted. The one I have is solid silver from under the hood to the Bumper and does not have unpainted bumper ends and in between the Headlights and bumper parts

If you click on the top pic in my thumbnails above it has a better grille.

Comparing the grille to the atlas one I can see what you mean Nobleco!

One of my favorite 'newer' Dinkys, so when I saw this set for a very good price, I had to get this Atlas reproduction! Very nice set, with color trial version in red! Copyright is 2016 so perhaps it's been in a Chinese warehouse for a while!

Recently I purchased the Atlas/DeAgostini 555 Thunderbird Covertible. It was inexpensive so why not. it is a nice casting and comes with driver. I think I have seen it posted here in the past. If it was posted is was over a year ago as I went back to page 100 and found naught.

I'm not really pursuing those, since I find them oddly soulless.
Consequently I only have, or better, had two of them.

The French 584 Citroen HY "Philips":

This will be a parts donor if I ever manage to obtain a restorable original within my financial prowess, or rather the lack thereof.

The other is (was) the equally French 1402 Galaxie, which I meanwhile passed on since I manged to get ahold of a good original.

Apart from that I have a batch of 49d petrol pumps bought cheaply from China:

And the French 593 road signs set:
