Back in the sixties a friend of mine owned a green Triumph Herald.
Many years later when I started collecting and restoring Dinky Toys I made an example for him in his colours and one for myself.

Best Regards - Wolter.

Krul - really like the 2 shots of the Triumph Herald. It's easy to make a comparison between the model and the real thing - and didn't Dinky do a good job.

Also liked Jim's shot of the fork-lift truck loading all those Dinky Toys in the Jecta Van for Christmas delivery to all of us little boys!!!

Tanx Hugh,

I agree Dinky did a very good job.
In my opinion the Herald is a very nice model anyway.

Krul ,out of interest to you regarding the Triumph herald look on page 54 of the Telsalda topic & on the Triang Minic 1/20 topic & you will see other over looked models of this car, earlier in the Telsalda topic I have another on too.

Just love those car styles from the past. Good restoration of this Triumph Herald that brings back memories.

OK Andy,

I did take a look but I have to admit I am not familiar with Telselda but their Triumph Herald is very nice to have.

They are an excelent model and I was lucky enough to get one of the originals. It is on my desk. I just need to string it so the ladder works.

that is the Atlas one?

Re: Dinky Toys and their real world prototypes (2) 5 months, 2 weeks ago #210

Yes, Theo, that is the Atlas. As far as I know it was never made with plastic (?) hubs, and if it were, it would be a Dinky Supertoys 899 instead of a Dinky Toys 32D. The true Dinky below:

As a little bonus the Dinky Toys no. 34a Royal Mail Air Service Van below, both the model and the real one at Croydon in the mid-1930s. Kind regards, Jan
