They did a good representation of the real car. Even the Dinky hubs look like the original hub caps. Grille and bumper look great too. Thanks for this one.

Great! Even different wheels on them

Yes I notice the mags. For the size the Dublo Dinky did a good job with their casting against what the real full scale vehicle looked like in those days.

Yes, I am referring to the first Alamy Photo of the VW Bus with the chrome wheels. We call them 5 spoke mags as they are partly made with Magnesium.

British Electric Lightning Interceptor 1960's-1980's were designed to protect the V Bomber during the cold war years started their life on the drawing board around 1948 and actually started being built around the 1950's. Cheers.

The Dinky no. 481 Bedford 10cwt Van 'Ovaltine', the Matchbox no. 25 Bedford 'Dunlop' Van and their shared real-world prototype. Kind regards, Jan

By the way, the 'mags' on the Volkswagen van are horrible in my opinion!

Jan, I agree. I like the style of the wheel but in brushed magnesium, not chrome. They do not go well with this van. I had a 1963 Dodge Custom 880 back in the late '70's and it had these wheels.

The look better on a larger American car.

Jan, I am restoring a couple of the Bedford vans above, the Ovaltine and the Dinky Toys. Look for them on the resto threads. The two of them will complete my Beford van collection of three.
