Toy Photography

Technical Set-up 1:18 scale model. Light diffusion tent, plexiglass, 2-3 strobes, assorted mirrors and/or reflectors, light gels, Canon 20D, 17-85mm lens, tripod, cable release, a small black hole I call a studio, CS3,
vast amounts of patience.

My images hopefully present a different view on diecast car photography. I am aiming for something in the neighborhood of realism, just presented in a pretty way. If you feel in any way this can capture the innocence of a Norman Rockwell painting..just with cars, I've won.

There is little to describe. My images should do the talking. All images and components were taken by myself. Because of this particular portfolio I find myself hunting for perfect places to put one of my cars in. Luckily I live in an extremely picturesque part of the world. There is no shortage of beautiful backgrounds. Many thanks owed to my friend, Don of Red's Diecast Cars who I had to work hard to convince before he'd let me leave with one of his cars. He has since come around a bit. My garage has about 75 cars in it now - all digital. I am primarily a photographer. I'm approachable. These are fantastic photographs. I have seen your work before and I am very happy you decided to enter your work in the contest. Your way of placing the Toy Car in a scene is nothing short of incredible. The time spent seems to be well worth it as shown in the final results. The cars look real and are scaled correctly to the scene in the back ground giving a seamless photo. Kudos on a job well done.
