Qing Dynasty official in dragon robe Hot

Qing Dynasty official in dragon robe

A Scratchbuilt figure of a Qing Dynasty Official.

Figure was built of wire armature in 1/32 scale. The cat is a metal casting from Phoenix miniatures.

Qing Dynasty officials wore elaborate "dragon" robes, which were embroidered with various dragon, clouds and other lucky motifs. At the lower part of the robe, the parallel lines represent "waves". These robes had long sleeves which were meant to impede movement when the official would approach the emperor, flick these sleeves out, knelt on them and made the traditional kowtow. The elaborate ritual was meant to deter any assasination attempt.

Great details esp on the robe! I like the simple presentation and the shrubs in the foreground.

Maybe it is just the image, the face is difficult to see - otherwise this is an amazing figure - very well done!
