I have taken a very play worn Mr Softee Ice Cream Van #428 by Corgi Toys and converted it into a Mr Whippy Ice Cream Van. Watch along and please vote for all the entries.

It started life pretty fine in a nice box and in a nice store. Then along came little Johnny. He wanted that toy van and pestered his mother until she finally gave in and bought it for his 10 birthday present, even though she could not afford it. We, Johnny was very happy and played with the Little Ice Cream Van and had hours and hours of fun.

Over the years it got paint chips and scrapes. The window glass got cracked and scratched up. Most of the decals were gone and muck of the paint was missing when Johnny put it away that last time when, at 14 he started High School. You didn't play with toys in High School, oh no.

So there it sat for quite a long time, 37 years to be exact. Johnny, Now know as John, was helping his now elderly parents with their move to a newer smaller home for their retirement years. While going through the boxes of old junk and stuff in the garage he came across a box. He recognized the box and it has is youthful handwriting all over it. Things like Fragile, Private Property, Trespassers will be shot and other sayings that made him laugh. He remember what was in that box. All his old toys from his childhood. He could not believe that his mother had kept them all these years. Well, as all good stories go, mom let John take the box of toys home.

It was about a year later when John ran into some financial difficulties and started to look into what he could do to get some extra cash. A friend at work offered to sell some of his things for him on eBay. It was not long before the old Dinky and Corgi and Matchbox toys started to go up for sale and John was quite happy that most of his toys were getting good prices. Far beyond what had been originally paid for them and well beyond his wildest dreams. All but one that is. One little toy did not sell for very much. It was very disappointing to John as it had always been his favorite and he had been reluctant to sell it, But, he did need the money, wife and kids to feed you know. So up for sale it went and sold for a mere pittance.

Flash over to the buyer...ME... Well, I tell you I was so happy to get another Karrier Van. I had done one and wanted to do another and this was the perfect one to do it with. Cracked glass, I could repair, Broken arm on man, I could buy a new one. So off I went ant here is what happened.

I breathed new life into that toy and when I sent a picture to John he could not believe his eyes. Said it looked better by far than the original. Take a look for yourself and please vote. Not only for me but all contestants. Thanks for you time and hope you liked the story. Pictures, Next.

I love the model, would just need a kid buying ice cream and a little bit of landscape to be perfect!
