Pat Moss and Ann Wisdom gave the A40 its international rallying debuton the 1959 Monte Carlo Rally and Pat christened the car, XOE 778,aZoe’. Their only major problem was when the Weber carburettor’smanifold fractured near Chalons; Ann got out to look, and initially hadsome difficulty convincing Pat that the carburettor had fallen off. They were able to push aZoe’ to a garage whose English proprietresswoke her mechanic to weld the aluminium-alloy casting. The repair heldand, as well as winning aThe Ladies Prize’, the pair finished tenthoverall, second in class, and won the aConcours’ RAC Challenge Trophy.
PatMoss often gave her cars names, the two other A40s were known as'Zokky' and 'Alf', whilst she also rallied a Morris Minor called'Granny'. 'Zoe' has been restored to her former glory and is oftenseen at classic car events in the care of her enthusiastic owner AdrianBoyd.
The Corgi model of "Zoe" features authentic detailing, including photo-etched wipers front and rear, front and rear foglamps and jewelled headlamps, authentic wheels, rally plates and number plates. It is finished in grey and black with black racing number 208. It is a limited edition of 1500 and comes with its own numbered collector card certificate.
Nice model of a justifiably famous car.
A very nicely-rendered model of this famous rally car, the additional details present on this model that aren't on the standard issues are all very impressive, especially the wipers, rally plates and wheels. Highly attractive.
