Norev recently introduced some new retro-vehicles. They already had a nice series for Citroën, Peugeot and Renault. They've added Simca to the list with a vehicle never done in this scale before:

Recently, BMW has presented us with 2 scale models in 1:64 scale.
The first is a prototype of the Vision EfficientDynamics concept-car. The car is quite detailed, with special wheels and a rather strange "glass house" (the section of the car where all the windows are is sometimes referred to as glass house). The maker is unknown to me, though there are some rumours it is Jadi.

Last year, at the Nuremberg Toy Fair, Norev introduced a new series of cars in 1:64 scale. Slightly smaller then the Minijet-range, it seems a return to the classic Minijet series. They turned up late 2012, the Minijets only early 2013! But I think the wait was well worth it.
The new City series seems to be quite true to scale, eventhough the vehicles do appear quite small. The choice of models shows a lot of vehicles that haven't been done before. They do appear cheaper (and probably are meant to be cheaper) then the current Minijet series.
This "cheapness" shows in standard wheels without an extra rim inset. It shows in the painted lights, instead of the clear lenses of the Minijet series. It shows of course in the size, being smaller then Minijet. However this should not put the potential buyer of, I think. Because the vehicles still seem better proportioned and painted then similarly prices Matchbox and Hot Wheels. The choice of vehicles, though Euro-centred, seems well thought.

The last blogpost I made was about the Doosan CL. Now I am making a new post on the CX. I am surprised to be able to get it this quick. The Doosan CL and CX concepts are ideas of the Doosan company how construction equipment could look in the year 2020 (and money is no object, presumably). Both have interesting features like counterweights that move, to adapt for the added weight when excavating, head-up displays, independant suspension for more drive comfort and such.
It's made in 1:40 scale by Clover.

This is the Doosan CL. Or as real as it is going to get. The CL, or Concept Loader, is a concept of how a loader might look in the year 2020. It is the sister model to the CX or Concept eXcavator. Both miniatures come with a DVD showing the special features of the machines. In this case, the loader has a moving counterweight at the rear, a head-up display and independant suspension. Also the bucket construction is different to contemporary designs in that the bucket can slide over the ends of the bucket arm.
I hope to showcase the CX soon as well. Both miniatures actually exist for some time already, but seem to be quite limited in distribution.

At the recent fair in Houten I as finally able to find 2 cars I was looking for for some time. I knew they existed thanks to the excellent site of Sini (www.sinicars.at). The problem is that the ones I found used to be much bigger then I normally collect, though I knew they are supposed to be 1:64ish scale.
But then I saw them and I knew they were the ones.
