With Nuremburg over its the time of year where things start to settle down. We have visited Hornby/Scalextric for our yearly visit and had a chance to see all of this years releases.

You will notice to start with there is a reduction in the size of the Scalextric range this year. This is an attempt to catch up on the releases that did not make it in 2011. The problem has been ongoing for two + years with many cars not making to the shelves till spring the following year. This year we have received many of the delayed cars already with only a few left to be released. The main cars are the Bugatti Veyron and Mercedes twin pack C3169A.

The smaller range of cars that are set for release in 2012 do look great and it seems that with the reduced range it has allowed the cream to be selected and it should allow all releases to be prove popular.

The Pick of 2012 releases would be the limited edition Rally Cross twin pack with a Ford RS200 and Metro 6R4, the ever popular Lotus 49 C3311, introduction of Lotus Renault F1 cars. There are many more cars that will prove popular with collectors and racers. With the reduced range it could spell shortages of cars as a whole due to the lack of overall quantity of cars that are to be released this year. Our advice to you would be to get your orders in either before release or very soon after!
