Service Station in Ohio

Here is the continuation of our series which we began on the Cam Cast toys with the Dodge vans.  We last saw our small Ohio manufacturer with its series of vans.  With a similar design concept, single-block, molded in a very dense zinc alloy, here is the tanker truck.  Its production required a new mold.   It is likely that Cam Cast had not envisioned creating any other promotional support other than the van.  It would have been simpler and less expensive to mold the cabin with the chassis and later adapt a van, a tanker trailer truck or other vehicle bodies.  The harmonious line of the cabin has been retained.  The treatment of the tank is minimalist.  The refueling caps are not reproduced.

As with the vans, this model was mostly concerned with a local clientele:  the Marathon brand distributed throughout Ohio and Farm Bureau Oil Company.  But, understandably, for this kind of product, there are a few national brands as well, such as Shell and Gulf Sunoco.  It is more difficult to find these tanker trucks than to find vans from this company.  Has Cam Cast produced other models?  The mystery remains.  We shall return to this topic for a final episode later!
