Of all the die-cast companies on the market, Playing Mantis has proven to be the most receptive to collector interests, as evidenced by their generous contribution of models to Toy Car Collector Magazine for review. The country of Argentina has provided many small-scale models. Brands and their derivatives such as Aguti, Loden, Rapitoy, Buby, Collectors Classics (larger than 1:64 scale), Galgo, Reno, Renno, RyM, Ricamor, Scimego and Jet have all originated within this South American nation. In addition, the Muky models were produced there during the 1970s and 1980s.
Opeyemi Olufemi lives in Nigeria and builds model cars from whatever scrap metal and salvage materials. Pictured here are a couple of his latest creations.
