It is both gunnerjim  first it was corgi 432 vantastic ,they modified the roof and added a working radio.

 radio luxemburg broadcast in english on a sunday night from 19.00hrs-00.00 all pop(1960s onward) , this it before radio 1 and the pirate stations offshore in england

The box says the mettoy co plc Northampton 1982.

canadian DJ  "KID" Jensen was there for a time.

Thanks Luff. I remember reading about the Pirate Radio stations hitting UK airways back in the 70's or about that time. I'll have to Google Wikipedia and see if I can refresh my aging memory. Ha have you seen the working radio I have. It is on here somewhere.

Edit: Yes something to do with the Bettles release of Sgt Pepper that made headlines here in Australia about the off shore radio pirates operating. Radio London may have been the culprit. The only radio pirates we had in Australia were Ham Radio or CB's jamming up 27 mhz.

I guess we are waiting for Dinkydi to put up an entry here.

I was looking for my last off the bench thread and came across it about 8 pages back in history. It had been sitting there waiting patiently for Dinkydi for over 2 weeks.
