Bought this nice tractor unit a few months ago, didn't have much time, but finally finished this straightforward job.

As bought

Work in progress

And the finished result. Only have to find a trailer to complete it

Very nicely done again......do you have plans to add one of the trailer units to it later??

You have probably seen the whole unit, but just in case here are a few pics of mine.  Looks like you will also need that spare tire that sits behind the cab.  And yes, those are the original logs that came with this when I bought it around 1959.....somehow did not lose them!

Thanks Terry, stunning pictures. Now I can see where I went wrong with the silver paint.

I think that the trailer is very hard to get.

You can really be proud of yourself to have this great Dinky in such condition with the original logs too.

Thanks again

Again, a very nice model and great restoration job. Like Terry says, just need the spare tire. The silver may still come off with my method of overpainting it with your Base Orange color. Let it sit a few seconds then just wipe off the orange and the silver will come along. It melts the silver under the orange so it comes off. If it does not come off the first time, usually I have to do two or three time, apply paint again and then wipe off. I am in the process of doing this to a couple of Austin Atlantic cars by Dinky. I will be posting them over the weekend as I am almost finished.

Thanks Jim, good advise, I shall try it.

My pink and cream Atlantic is almost finished too, so we can compare the results

I got the surrounds on both back to the original shape. It was not hard after I heated it up and used my flat jaw pliers on it. Gently one side then the other, back and forth until it was straight again. Here is a sneak peak. Detailing yet to be done in this picture but today I finish off the details and wipe off the over paint of the silver as I have suggested earlier.

First coat of Silver below.

very nice Jim,

I am going to paint the side lines with the back of my brush, just dip it in the paint and see what happens
