Very impressive, I see you treated both roofs different, any reason? one is flat the other has the original lines

Could be different issues of the toy.
Nice work Jim, you did well on these two. Unusual additions to any collections. Got to like one offs.

Thanks for the question Scruff about no rib lines in the roof of the 8x4. I had lost a bit of those lines due to the roof curvature when grinding back the back part of the cab to fit into the existing rivet holes in the rear chassis depicted below in the Chinese Six. The other I was going to put a tarp and rope box on top of the roof which I still might do as yet.

Below shows the amount of filler needed to fill in the curvature problem. With the Chinese Six I adjusted the cut out somewhat better on the 6x2 enabling the roof to marry into the chassis cab holes and maintain the roof line.

I hope that explains the difference between both cab roof finishes.

My Scammell Crusader collection and it is still growing. Thanks GeorgeT for the donated spare parts which will be put to good use and I enjoyed our little chat.

Matchbox Scammell Routmaster 8 wheeled container truck number 24 Super Kings.

I find them hard to find in good condition at Sunday Markets boot sales and swap meets here in Australia as they have been really loved to near death. Goes to show that most Australian kids are a rough bunch.

I sort of followed the underside fill in between the front steer for the twin cabs.

Then again there are some good varieties around sometimes thanks to eBay and the likes.

Then it is good to pick up some good ones now and again. From the UK with lots of love.

This one is in really good condition as the previous owner has advised it has hardly been out of its box.

Another project is on the drawing board and awaiting some extra junk in the mail. I was going to cut up my youngest daughter Debs green DAF truck and marry the tray to the front cab donated by GeorgeT but decided not to due to historical factors I have another beater coming in the mail with another Crusader.

Then again the Routemaster might get some chop too very soon.

A couple of more Scammell to add to the pot. The K-2 Super Kings Scammell Heavy Wreck Truck was a terrific win from UK and was a good contest with 16 bids and me the winner. All up including airmail signed for postage 27.94 GBP. The other was the Job Lot for repairs and the Scammell Contractor Tipper is in near perfect condition with only a minor paint chip or two.

The DAF will be the chop donor for the next project with broken windows but good rear suspension.

Yes what a bargain. All up 16-50 GBP including postage. Both packages arrived today and left fantastic feedback for those two sellers.

Just adding to them K19.

And the regular wheels too needs a partner in a box one day will come.

I just cannot help myself.

No use just sitting in the box so out for a little run before the camra you go.

It is good to have one in very good condition than having a lot of beaters but they, the beaters are good to have. Just adds some realism to the collection.

Just have to get one of those Esso ones in a box. The going price for those K2 C2 regular wheel heavy wreck trucks at the moment are Buy Now around the $100 AUD. It is just a wait and see in catching one at the right price of affordability of around the $50 buck mark.

After all that back to the Chop and Change bench on the next project converting Crusaders into something else that Matchbox over looked.

Side elevation of my projected intentions with the chop and channel job.

Below some early attempts at the Chopping block with old warn beaters.

The old Tipper is destine to be Chopped soon. I think I mentioned that sometime ago. Still awaiting on some donor bits and pieces to come together.
