TOPIC: Dinky 539 Citroën ID 19 Break code 3 update

Referring to those working drawings have made a differance almost looks like a factory roof now.  Well done. Always had a love/hate relationship with these Citroens, wasn't sure what to think of them or whether I liked them or not.  I managed to get a drive of one when I worked as a car transport driver for awhile and that changed my mind completely.   Never could afford to buy one as they are quite rare in Australia.

I think this would look great in a dark colour, a burgundy or maroon, with a lighter colour, contrasting roof, or for a really unique look, in a plain off white or fawn with dealer stickers on it.  like Michelin.  What about filling the pickup bed with wooden boxes made to look like wine crates, with the appropriate signage on the doors.

Could be a parts truck for a gas station, parts store or a Citroen Dealship. Lots of different ideas here.

Time for another update. I painted the body and now I had to give the self-made  roof and A pillars a contrasting color.

Can you guess the color scheme already?

Lots of ideas came from you all, thanks guys.
Ideas mentioned:

Oktober Fest Beer truck
Surf board truck
Vinyard truck
Gas station truck

Hard to choose from, but I get there eventually

I did not manage to give it a window unit, but nevertheless I am pleased with the result. Finished it in brown and cream Now, what was this car used for?

It could have been a promotional car in the Tour de France

It was fun doing this project, and involved different kind of skills. I hope you like it.

It is a different model, that is for sure. It would also look good with a bicycle in the back or even better, a small can of Red Bull.

was thinking the same thing... but then the DS will need to be painted in the silver/blue/red livery as well of Red Bull.

Great effort, awesome job!!!

I like how you've left the rear doors as is.

this creates the illusion that you could have more storage space with easy access

Thanks guys.

I am working on a crate made out of wooden toothpicks. The glue dries slowly, so I have to be patient.

Richard,
the rear door can still be opened

GunnerJim,
Have to find an Aussie meat pie in scale 1/43!!!

Luff,
that is a good idea too, thanks

I think Richard meant the Rear Side Door, not the tail gate.

Oh yes I see what you mean Jim.
I thought Richard mentioned the tailgate. That can be opended, the rear side doors are cast in, so they don't open. And I never thought of filling them in.
